  Mothers Day

Anything from blase to emotive. I always think about my mum and what I'd be doing with her if she were still around. Then I think about my son and the miracle that I am a mother - something I didn't want to be until at 34 one day decided and conceived.
Since then have realized it fits me like beautiful kid leather gloves and feeds me like the sun nourishes. No I couldn't have the many more I wanted but, thankfully, I am a mother.
Something to celebrate not just for the first Sunday in May.
Happy Mothers Day

My beautiful partner and father of our son, Rick, bought me this donkey[?] made out of gorgeous space kids fabric. " I don't want presents, just let me rule the day"! I tell them.

Coffee and toast in bed from Louis who's gift was a written promise to regularly do homework[not signed I noted] and a drawing 'is still coming'. Went with my father and [step]mother to trash and treasure for a quick visit [for their sake] on route to morning soccer game-yay Louis' team [Essendon Royals] won.
Forgot to have lunch. Spent afternoon sorting Ricks' last years' tax for Monday appt.

Then put on some music[David Bowie Live at Santa Monica '64] got in the zone, and prepared dinner. Salad of spinach leaves, persian fetta, avocado, olives, beetroot, parsley, basil, mint, balsamic, lemon juice and fried shallot. Grilled marinated quails with lots of  lemon squeezed over. After- Good vanilla ice cream with crumbled meringue,  passionfruit pulp and macerated strawberries mixed through. So easy so yum. There's a store bought pavlova icecream thats similar but not as good.

Jose`[dad] and Sheron have been staying with us for 3 weeks and we have all enjoyed them being here very much. As this was their last night- it was a bit sad. Monday morning they went back home to Port Maquairie. Sheron is also a wonderful Nana to Louis.

Yes I am an amateur in the cake making dept. but that's not going to stop me. This is supposed to be a suitcase~bon voyage. Louis helped finish it off. He is starting to show an interest. Fun to make and I think it was appreciated by Kerry, Ruben and Nina who went to China for 2 weeks.

Trash and Treasure Sunday

Hadn't been to Coburg trash and treasure for too long but soccer team had a bye[Bi, how is it spelt? What is it?] These battling Galleons spoke to me. What to do with the trad spanish frame? Not sure

Love this book, illustrations and cover. Bonus newspaper articles on nuclear energy circa '68! All for $1

Large 1962 World atlas

Thunderbirds are GO! Love this stuff, so does Louis. Will go nicely with island already have.

 My new alarm clock

A bit of a monstrosity to look at. Daniels Birthday cake cupcakes last week. Tops cut off Pistachio cakes, creamy lemon curd spooned in, tops replaced. Then Chocolate ganache with crushed pistachio. Had to  add food colour dyed marshmallows.
Wonderfully sunny monday morning.

Time to find some joy in the garden. Me and Pancho grabbed some rays.

Peony tree is in its ruddy chubby state waiting till it transforms into the ooh aah swan it will be.

" For gods sake weed me girl" gardening guru urged.
